The Surface UNcrewed Fleet (SUN Fleet) will host a hybrid governance workshop on October 20-21, 2025, at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, USA to develop a governance framework for enhancing the coordination of the global uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) community. View the agenda and register.
Participants will refine the network’s vision, governance structure, and working groups, and advance discussions on data standards, interoperability, and partnerships. The workshop will establish a foundation for SUN Fleet to promote FAIR data practices, enhance collaboration across sectors and regions, and act as a unified voice for the global USV community within the GOOS Observations Coordination Group (OCG). SUN Fleet was endorsed as an emerging GOOS network building on consensus priorities outlined in their community publication, Patterson et al. (2025).
